Evola runs to 16th at finals

ALMONT — The Almont girls’ track team ended their 2025 season last Saturday at the Division 3 state finals.

Kent City High School is where the meet was contested.

Olivet’s 46-point total paced the field assembled. registered Erie Mason (41 points), Lansing Catholic (34), Onsted (32), Stanton Central Montcalm and Pewamo-Westphalia (27 each), Kalamazoo Christian (23.5), Hart (21.5), Traverse City St. Francis (21) plus Montrose and Kingsley (20 each) registered top-ten showings as well.

Laila Evola, 3200-meter run, 12:37.39; led Almont with a 16th,

Taylor Stanczak, 1600 run, 5:43.84; provided Almont with a 19th.

The Almont 3200-meter relay of Greta Schwarberg, Fitchett, Evola and Stanczak pulled up 23rd. It took them 10:48.04 to accomplish the feat.

Madison Niedermaier, pole vault, 8 feet; added a 25th to Almont’s cause.
