Tesnow sets career hit standard

CAPAC — The Capac varsity baseball team sent visiting Marlette down to a pair of setbacks in a doubleheader on Monday, May 19.

In the opener, Wiley Roose’s walk off single with two outs in the seventh lifted Capac to a 3-2 win.

Brody Tesnow’s single in the opening inning broke the Capac school record for career hits, pushing his total to 107. That eclipsed the previous mark of 106 hits held by Louis Aguinaga.

In addition to the record-breaking hit, the Capac junior added another single to Capac’s cause.

Alan Uribe-Arce (a single) supplied the remaining Capac hit.

Tesnow was the winning Capac pitcher. He allowed three hits, struck out six and walked four.

In the second contest, Capac made Marlette absorb a 17-3 loss.

Aaron Coltson (four singles), Tesnow (two singles and a double), Brandon Szuch (a single and a double), Roose (two singles), Austin Howard and Uribe-Arce (a double each) along with Axel Demaray (a single) contributed Capac’s hits.

Demaray and Howard shared the pitching responsibilities for Capac. They gave up 10 total hits, struck out six and walked seven along the way.
