Spartans go 2-1 at its invitational

IMLAY CITY — The Imlay City varsity softball team went 2-1 last Saturday at an invitational it hosted.
Imlay City opened tournament play with a 12-2 win against Ortonville-Brandon.
Chloe Bruman (four singles), Makayla Bruman (a single and a triple), Lauren Dinsmore (a triple), Ava Nadrowski (a double) along with Brooke Walls, Alexis Bruyere, Brie Hund and Montanna Eads (a single each) supplied Imlay City’s hits.
Roslyn Bruman was Imlay City’s pitcher of record. She allowed eight hits and walked one en route.
Imlay City then improved to 2-0 thanks to a 14-5 victory over Davison.
Hund (two singles and a double), Schriber (a single and a double), Nadrowski (a pair of singles) plus Chloe Bruman, Makayla Bruman, Allison Shafer, Walls and Bruyere (a single apiece) furnished Imlay City’s hits.
Schriber was the winning Imlay City pitcher. She gave up nine hits, struck out two and walked two.
Imlay City then wrapped up tournament play with a 7-5 loss to Monroe.
Chloe Bruman and Nadrowski (two singles each) paced Imlay City’s offensive attack. They were backed by Makayla Bruman (a triple) along with Roslyn Bruman, Shafer, Hund, Bruyere and Walls (a single apiece).
