Imlay City wins Bad Axe Tourney

IMLAY CITY — The Imlay City varsity softball squad claimed a first-place finish last Saturday at the Bad Axe Tournament.

Imlay City started things off with an 8-6 victory over Yale.

Faith Schriber paced Imlay City with a pair of singles and a double. She was backed by Ava Nadrowski (a single and a double), Alexis Bruyere and Alison Shafer (two singles each) along with Chloe Bruman, Brooke Walls, Mikayla  Bruman and Brie Hund (a single apiece).

Roslyn Bruman and Schriber shared the pitching responsibilities for the winning Imlay City side. They allowed 12 total hits, struck
out five and walked two.

Imlay City followed that up with a 9-5 championship triumph against Bad Axe.

Chloe Bruman (four singles), Leelynn Craven, Nadrowski, Walls and Schriber (two singles each) plus Mikayla Bruman, Bruyere and Hund (a single apiece) provided Imlay City’s hits.

Schriber was the winning Imlay City pitcher. She gave up 11 hits, struck out seven and walked none en route.
