Imlay City second at Marlette

IMLAY CITY — The Imlay City varsity baseball team took second at the Marlette Tournament last Saturday.

Imlay City started things off with an 18-5 win against Marlette.

Brady Detwiler (two doubles), Vinnie Guerin, Levi Lengemann and Gio Moreno (two singles each), Trace Dennis (a double) plus Matthew Morocco and Keigan Scott (a single apiece) provided Imlay City’s hits.

Sam Edson was Imlay City’s pitcher of record. He allowed four hits, struck out five and walked three over 3 1/3 innings.

Imlay City then met Algonac for tournament honors next.

When the final scores were added up, Algonac pulled out a 4-3 victory over Imlay City.

Dennis, Detwiler, Morocco and Scott paced Imlay City’s offensive attack with a single each.

With the results, Imlay City now stands at 3-9 overall.
