Almont boys are third at Marlette

TRI-CITY AREA — The Almont boys’ track squad amassed 61 points, Dryden generated 20 and Capac was held scoreless on the way to respective finishes of third, 12th and 17th last Thursday at the Marlette Invitational.

Cass City won the team title with 88 points.

Chase Battani, pole vault (13 feet 3 inches) and 300 hurdles (44.65seconds); led Almont with a pair of firsts.

Battani, 110-meter hurdles, 15.93 seconds; and Brody Corneau, 300 hurdles, 44.91 seconds; provided Almont with seconds.

Corneau, 110-meter hurdles, 16.41 seconds; supplied Almont with a third.

Battani, 100 dash, 11.56 seconds; contributed a fourth for Almont.

Gabe Hibner, pole vault, 10 feet; gave Almont an individual event sixth.

The Almont 800-meter relay of Nolan Maxlow, Eric Haddon, Ben Nickrand and Corneau wound up sixth as well. They took 1:42.98 to accomplish the feat.

Colton Grzyb, 800 run, 2:16.94; provided Almont with a seventh.

Adam SaintOnge, 800-meter run, 2:17.46; added an eighth to Almont’ s cause.

Levi Fitchett, 3200 run, 11:04.54; paced Dryden with a fourth that day.

Brenden Peter, 110 (17.03 seconds) and 300-meter hurdles (46.86 seconds) contributed a pair of individuals for Dryden.

The Dryden 3200 relay of Dylan Lasher, Sean Finnigan, Romain and Fitchett were fifth as well. They were timed in 9:22.18.

Romain, 3200 run, 11:09.3; rounded out the list of Dryden placewinners with a sixth.
