Spartans fourth at meet

TRI-CITY AREA — The Imlay City (65 points), Almont (63.5), and Dryden (32.5) boys’ track squads earned respective showings of fourth, fifth and ninth among small school entries last Friday at the Shake Off the Rust Invitational in Davison.

Chesaning won the meet with 191 points.

The 400-meter relay of Alan Valdovinos, E. Cardenas, Tyler Kanai and Brett Lestage led Imlay City with a first. They were timed in 46.08 seconds.

Eli Garcia, high jump, 5 feet 9 inches; gave Imlay City an individual event second.

Imlay City’s 800-meter relay of Valdovinos, Cardenas, Kanai and Lestage pulled up second in 1:36.49.

Lestage, 100-meter dash, 11.72 seconds; provided Imlay City with a third.

Contributing Imlay City’s individual event fourths were Lestage, 200-meter dash, 23.79 seconds; and Ethan Everhart, 56.22 seconds.

Imlay City’s 1600-meter relay of Brady Homer, Jovani Pena, Grant Capling and Cardenas placed fourth with a clocking of 3:59.36.

Jerry Zheng, shot put, 39 feet 3 inches; plus Valdovinos, 100 (11.79 seconds) and 200-meter (23.89 seconds) dashes; furnished Imlay City’s fifths.

Everhart, 110-meter hurdles, 17.89 seconds; contributed an individual sixth for Imlay City.

Imlay City also received a sixth courtesy of their 3200-meter relay of Sebastian Hoult, Will Cilk, Liam Bhatti and Wade Murray. They were timed in 10:21.33.

Chase Battani, pole vault 12 feet 6 inches; paced Almont with a first.

Brody Corneau, 110-meter hurdles, 16.67 seconds; gave Almont a third.

Battani, 100-meter dash (11.73 second) plus 110 (17.83 seconds) and 300-meter (45.9 seconds) hurdles; obtained Almont’s fourths.

Corneau, 300-meter hurdles, 46.44 seconds; supplied Almont with an individual event fifth.

The Almont 400 (Dustin Claeys, Eric Haddon, Nolan Maxlow and Corneau) and 3200 -meter (Adam SaintOnge, Jacob Biolchini, Colton Grzyb and Jamin Siewert) relays took fifths. They were timed in 47.62 seconds and 9:40.85, respectively.

Benjamin Nickrand, long jump, 17 feet 7 inches; Haddon, 200-meter dash, 24.95 seconds; picked up Almont’s individual event sixths.

The Almont 800 (Logan Lorincz, Killian Abitheira, Camden Carlson and Landon Eddington) and 1600-meter relay of Adam SaintOnge, Andrew SaintOnge, Siewert and Biolchini were sixth. They were timed in 1:50.7 and 4:02.3, respectively.

Gabriel Hibner, pole vault, 10 feet; Maxlow, long jump, 17 feet 6 inches; and Adam SaintOnge, 800-meter run, 2:19; furnished Almont’s sevenths.

Maxlow, high jump, 5 feet 3 inches. Claeys, discus, 108 feet 1 inch; and Haddon, 100-meter dash, 11.98 seconds; tacked on eighths for Almont.

Levi Fitchett, 3200-meter run, 11:02.28; led Dryden with an individual event third.

A Dryden 3200-meter relay of Logan Romain, Dylan Lashere Sean Finnigan and Fitchett placed third as well. They were timed in 9:25.18.

Brendan Peter, 110 -meter hurdles, 17.83 seconds; Romain, 3200-meter run, 11:16.24; supplied Dryden with individual event fourths.

The Dryden 800-meter relay of Santiago Perales, Jason Kaiser, Tyler Roberts and Logan Korth were fourth as well. They registered a 1:46.58 clocking en route.

Peter, 300-meter hurdles, 46.53 seconds; gave Dryden a sixth.

The Dryden 1600-meter relay of Lasher, Roberts, Peter and Korth wound up seventh in 4:06.61.

Finnigan, 800-meter run, 2:20.82; rounded out the list of Dryden place-winners with an eighth.
