Almont golf wins BWAC Jamboree

TRI-CITY AREA — The Almont and Imlay City boys’ golf teams took first and seventh, respectively, last Friday at a Blue Water Area Conference Jamboree.

Heather Hills Golf Course is where the action unfolded.

Almont edged Cros-Lex, 166-168, for team honors that day. They were followed by North Branch (172), Armada (186), Yale (191), Richmond (198), Imlay City (217) and Algonac (250).

Spencer Kent led Almont with a 39. He was backed by Jacob Fuller and Alex Ujkic (a 41 each) along with Brody Haldeman (45).

For Imlay City, Tanner Land was low with a 49. The Spartans also counted Cory Hall’s 50, Carter Couzens’ 58 and Matthew Webb’s 60.
