Imlay City edges North Branch

CAPAC — Kierstyn Stankevich goal capitalized on an assist from Wren Dennis with 13 seconds remaining, lifting host Imlay City to a dramatic 3-2 win against North Branch in a Blue Water Area Conference girls’ soccer battle contested under bonechilling conditions Monday evening.

Temperature at game time was 34 degrees actual and just 19 with the real feel factored in.

With the outcome, Imlay City moves to 1-0 overall and versus BWAC foes. North Branch slips to 0-1-1 this and 0-1 as far as BWAC clashes are concerned.

Stankevich and Aryana Atkinson (one each) supplied the remaining Imlay City goals.

Imlay City also received one assist apiece courtesy of Dennis and Brittany Leon.

Kendal Donahue got the win in net for Imlay City. She was credited with 10 saves.
