Two-car collision closes M-21

Three victims extricated and treated for injuries

 

Debris and the rescue of at least three victims from a two-vehicle crash at the intersection of Dorrow and Imlay City Rd. Friday morning closed the roadway down to thru traffic. As of Monday morning, the conditions of the victims is unknown.

IMLAY TWP. — At least three people sustained injuries as a result of a two-vehicle crash in Imlay Twp. Friday morning.

Emergency crews responded to the intersection of old M-21 and Dorrow Rd. around 10:30 a.m. and found vehicle debris scattered across both lanes of the roadway.

An SUV and a second unidentified passenger vehicle collided, causing the SUV to rollover and land in a ditch on the northwest side of the intersection. The passenger car went into a ditch on the northeast side of the intersection.

Imlay City police detoured traffic around the accident scene north to Church Rd. then west to Brown City Rd. and back to Imlay City Rd. during the rescue operation.

Lapeer County EMS sent three ambulances to the scene along with their ECHO (mobile paramedic) unit. Imlay City fire department and Lapeer County Sheriff Dept. also responded to the scene.

No further information from the Sheriff Dept. was made available as to the cause of the crash or conditions of the three victims. The crash remains under investigation.
