Rodriguez wins 4K

Miguel Rodriguez crosses the finish-line first at the Irish I was Faster 4K last Saturday. Rodriguez won the race with a 15:58.9 performance.

TRI-CITY AREA — Capac’s Miguel Rodriguez posted a time of 15:58.9, paving the way to a first-place overall finish last Saturday at the Irish I was Faster 4K Race in Imlay City.

John Monette, of St. Clair Shores, registered the day’s next quickest performance. He managed a 16:10.79 clocking.

Wade Murray, of Lapeer, was third in 16:17.94.

Andrew Allen, Imlay City, 17:24.71; D. Schlaufman, Capac, 17:36.96; Brad Denver, Attica, 17:59.01; L. Allen, Imlay City, 18:45.41; Will Cilk, Imlay City. 19:11.17; Nicholas Feucht, Port Huron, 19:42.22; and Kayson Slack, no hometown listed; 20:33.38; rounded out the top-10 male finishers.

Saige Cole, of Avoca, was the women’s pacesetter. It took her 16:32.54 to cover the territory.

Imlay City’s Jenna Denver ranked second, thanks to a 17:20.17 clocking.

Megan Grezeszak, hometown not available, placed third with a time of 18:05.34.

Imlay City’s Melynda Kinzer ranked fourth in 18:10.16.

Lillian Bender, hometown not available, took fifth with a time of 18:13.67.

Yale’s Ava Childers wound up sixth on the strength of a 19:06.64 performance.

Imlay City’s Alexa Lengemann claimed seventh with a 19:17.21 clocking.

Lexington’s Melissa Marasco took eighth in 19:21.41.

Capac’s Riley Schlaufman ranked ninth. It took her 19:28.77 to accomplish the feat.

Imlay City’s Alice Johnson rounded out the top-10 female finshers. She was timed in 20:06.36.
