Raider powerlifters excel at states

ALMONT — Almont earned three top-ten finishes at the Michigan Powerlifting Association State Finals last Saturday.

Lake Orion is where the action unfolded.

Izzy Malcolm led Almont with a fifth pitted against 181-pound weight class entrants. Malcolm posted a 750-pound total en route.

Ryann Louwsma generated the next best Almont finish.

Competing in the 220-pound weight class, Louwsma managed a 740-pound performance for a ninth.

Lola Battaglia provided Almont with a 12th.

Participating in the 155-pound weight class, Battaglia generated a 650-pound total en route.

Madison Miodowski also represented Almont at the Michigan High School Powerlifting State Finals.

Participating in the 181-pound weight class, Miodowski managed a 181-pound output for 16th.
