Koenig collects hit in CMU victory

ALMONT — The Central Michigan University softball team, which includes former Almont High School standout Grace Koenig, notched a 4-3 victory over Siena last Sunday morning.

R.O.C. Park, in Madeira Beach, Florida, is where the game was contested.

In Sunday’s battle, CMU used a one-run third inning; a two-run fourth; and a three-run seventh to prevail.

Siena collected all three of their runs during inning number seven.

Koenig, a sophomore, provided Central Michigan University with a single in four official at bats that morning. She also contributed a run scored to the Chippewa’s cause.

With the outcome, CMU improves to 7-12 this season.
