Land, Galiana punch ticket to the finals

IMLAY CITY — The Imlay City wrestling team will send a pair of competitors to the Division 3 individual state finals February 28- March 1 at Detroit’s Ford Field.

They qualified with top-four weight class showings last Saturday at a regional hosted by Hazel Park High School.

Tanner Land and Christopher Galiana led Imlay City with third-place finishes that day. Land wrapped up his stint at 126 pounds when he pinned Detroit Voyaguer College Prep’s Carlos Herrera with 4:53 elapsed and Galiana ended 132-pound action with a 7-2 victory over Yale’s Kersten McClelland.
