Capac sends three to state finals

CAPAC — The Capac wrestling team qualified three grapplers to the Division 4 individual state finals February 28-March 1 at Ford Field in Detroit.

They advanced with top-four weight class placings last Saturday at a regional hosted by Leslie High School.

Tyler McKenney, Ryan Grant and Sam Schneider provided Capac with third-place showings that day. McKenney ended 113-pound action with a 13-11 win against Clinton’s Zach Taylor; Grant completed his stint at 120 pounds with an 8-7 victory over Addison’s Caden Olsetsky; Schneider finished 126-pound action when he pinned Clinton’s Brock Worden with 2:09 gone.
