Imlay City girls get win, 71-34

TRI-CITY AREA — Imlay City came out on top of a 71-34 verdict over host Almont in a non-league varsity girls’ basketball clash last Friday night.

With the decision, Imlay City moves to 8-7 and 5-3. Almont slips to 2-12 and 0-9.

In Friday’s clash, Imlay City charged out to a 20-7 advantage after one quarter had ended and widened the gap to 39-18 at halftime.

Imlay City then out scored Almont 32-16from that point on, wrapping up a 71-34win.

Alexis Bruyere (26) and Addison Cameron (19) led Imlay City with double digit point totals. Alexa Lengemann (seven), Liley Duncan (five), Makayla Baden (four), Savannah Douglas and Makenzie Bruyere (three each) along with Alison Shafer and Montanna Eads (two apiece) also reached the scoring column.

Madi Derk (24 points, including four trifectas) paced Almont. She was backed by Rachael Johnson (eight points) and Vivian Asaro (two).
