Dueling Pianos event Saturday; Hoops fundraiser

DRYDEN — The Dryden Basketball teams (boys and girls) will be hosting a night of Dueling Pianos on Saturday, February 8th at Hideaway Lanes in Almont.

“We wanted to have a fun night for our fundraiser, and we wanted it to be affordable for everyone,” said Dryden varsity boys’ basketball coach John DelCampo. “We accomplished that with a dueling pianos night.”

In addition to the dueling pianos, there will be a 50/50 drawing and numerous raffle items.

“For our 50/50, we do not allow the winner to donate any of the money back. We strongly feel that attending the night and buying 50/50 tickets is the donation. They have to keep the money!” said DelCampo.

Dueling pianos is an interactive musical performance where two pianists play grand pianos and sing to an audience. The request driven shows are interactive and include audience participation, comedy, and singalongs.

Proceeds from the evening will go to a variety of items – summer basketball camp, team banquets, shooting shirts, practice jerseys, uniforms.

“With all of the things that we do in our basketball programs, it gets expensive. We do everything we can do offset the cost for players and parents,” said DelCampo.

Doors open at 6:30 with the dueling pianos going from 7:30 until 10:30. Tickets are presale only and alcohol will be served. “We are not selling tickets at the door,” said DelCampo.
