Imlay City rolls over Marine City

IMLAY CITY — Imlay City picked up a 55-34 victory over visiting Marine City in a non-league varsity girls’ basketball confrontation Monday night.
With the decision, Imlay City evens their mark at 7-7 overall. Marine City falls to 7-8 this season.
In Monday’s confrontation, Imlay City grabbed a 12-10 edge after one quarter had ended.
Imlay City then followed it up with a 13-11 second quarter advantage, pushing their cushion to 25-21 at the half.
When the action resumed, Imlay City established some much-needed breathing room. Aided by a 15-6 third quarter edge, the Spartans widened the gap 40-27.
Imlay City then outscored Marine City 15-7 the rest of the way, good for 55-34 victory at night’s end.
For Imlay City, Alexis Bruyere (26) and Addison Cameron (17) supplied their top point totals. They were backed by Alexa Lengemann (six points), Mackenzie Bruyere (three), Allison Shafer (two) and Savannah Douglas (one).
