Imlay City rolls past North Branch

IMLAY CITY — Imlay City obtained a 73-31 win against host North Branch in a Blue Water Area Conference varsity boys’ basketball game on Tuesday, January 21.
With the outcome, Imlay City improves to 8-4 and 6-1.
In Tuesday’s game, Imlay City opened up a 27-8 advantage after one quarter was over and increased their cushion to 39-17 by halftime.
Imlay City then outscored North Branch 34-14 the rest of the way, good for a 73-31 win when the final buzzer sounded.
Isaac Sommer paced Imlay City with 26 points, including a school record-setting eight triples. Jacob Bunea (2015) and Eric Harbin (2011) (seven each) had shared the prior mark previously.
Zander Nash (18), Landon Jones (12), Andrew Cezik (six), Matt Evans (four), Jack Siegler (three) plus Rocco D’Ambrosio and Brady Detwiler (two each) also reached the scoring column.
