Spartans hand Blue Devils a loss

IMLAY CITY — Imlay City posted a 55-40 victory over visiting Richmond in a Blue Water Area Conference varsity boys’ basketball meeting last Friday night.

With the final, Imlay City improves to 7-4 and 5-1. Richmond falls to 4-8 and 0-6.

In Friday’s meeting, Imlay City took a 17-11 edge after one quarter was over and led 26-15 by halftime.

Quarter three would see both sides net 11 points, leaving Imlay City up 37-26 with 24 minutes gone.

Imlay City then outscored Richmond 18-14 from that point on, good for a 55-40 triumph at night’s end.

Zander Nash led Imlay City with 15 points. Matt Evans (14 points), Jack Siegler and Landon Jones (nine each), Andrew Cezik (five) and Isaac Sommer (four) supported his performance.
