Imlay breezes past Richmond

IMLAY CITY — Imlay City claimed a 58-26 win against visiting Richmond in a Blue Water Area Conference varsity girls’ basketball confrontation last Friday.

With the result, Imlay City goes to 5-5 and 3-2.

In Friday’s confrontation, Imlay City opened up a 16-4 advantage after one quarter had ended and increased their cushion to 31-12 at the half.

When play resumed, Imlay City picked up where it left off. Aided by a 16-10 third quarter edge, the Spartans widened the gap to 47-22.

Imlay City then outscored Richmond 11-4 the rest of the way, finishing off a 58-26 win.

Alexis Bruyere paced Imlay City with 21 points. She was backed by Addison Cameron (10 points), Alexa Lengemann (nine), Makayla Phillips (eight), Allison Shafer (five), Mackenzie Bruyere (three) and Montanna Eads (two).
