Almont rolls past Algonac, 66-42

ALMONT — Almont turned back visiting Algonac, 66-42, in a Blue Water Area Conference varsity boys’ basketball game last Thursday.
With the decision, Almont improves to 4-7 and 2-4.
In Thursday’s game, Almont bolted out to a 20-6 advantage after one quarter was done and increased their cushion to 35-20 by halftime.
When the action resumed, Almont continued to pull away. Aided by an 11-8 third quarter edge, the Raiders widened the gap to 46-28 with 24 minutes gone.
Almont then outscored Algonac 20-14 from that point on, assuring themselves of a 66-42 triumph at night’s end.
Chase Davedowski (16 points, with four triples) led Almont. The Raiders also received points courtesy of Connor Tyrell (eight), Owen Rayl and Spencer Kent (seven each), Blake Lane (five, including a trifecta), Brody Corneau and Tristan Mayer (five each).
