Capac claims seventh at St. Clair

CAPAC — The Capac wrestling team claimed a second last Saturday at the Fight For the Freighter Tournament in St. Clair.

When the final scores were added up, New Boston Huron’s 214-point total paced the field assembled. They were followed by St. Clair (168 points), Fenton (167), De La Salle (96.5), Lutheran North (56), Yale (54), Capac (53), Cousino and Marlette (52 each), Martin Luther King (48), Grosse Pointe North (47), Roseville (42), L’Anse Creuse North and Royal Oak (41 each), Berkley (31.5) and Sandusky (23).

Tyler McKenney provided Capac with a third that day. He went 2-2 at 113 pounds.

Ryan Grant gave Capac a third-place showing as well. Grant assured himself of that showing, wrapping up 126-pound action when he pinned Royal Oak’s Noah Antwan with 2:16 gone.
