Dryden girls fall in the title game

DRYDEN — The Dryden varsity girls’ basketball squad fell 57-39 to Webberville in the championship game of the Paul Grondin Classic it hosted last Friday.

With the decision, Webberville improves to 4-0 overall. Dryden slips to 3-3 this season.

In Friday’s championship game, Webberville took a 13-7 advantage after one quarter was over and widened the gap to 28-19 at the half.

Quarter number three saw Dryden counter with a 15-14 edge. That trimmed their deficit to 42-34 with 24 minutes gone.

Webberville then bounced back with a 15-5 fourth quarter advantage, wrapping up a 57-39 victory.

Keira Miller paced Dryden with 29 points, draining three triples along the way. The Cardinals also had Kierstyn Stankevich (eight points, including a pair of trifectas) and Isabella Weier (two) reach the scoring column.
