Capac grabs a second at Invite
TRI-CITY AREA — The Capac and Almont wrestling teams placed second and ninth, respectively, last Saturday at the Ryan Mercer Memorial Tournament in Mayville.
Memphis paced the field assembled with 188 points. They were followed by Capac (144.5), Cass City (130), North Branch (116), Marlette (104), Yale (92.5), Sandusky (88.5), Brown City (80), Almont (71.5), Caro (31) and St. Charles (28.5), Elkton-Pigeon BayPort (26), Mayville (22), Ubly (20) Akron-Fairgrove (15).
Tyler McKenney (113), Sam Schneider (132) and Thomas Clowers (157) led Capac with firsts.
Ryan Grant (120) provided Capac with seconds.
Cierra Helzer (113), Alberto Chapa (126) and Connor Powers (190) gave Capac thirds.
Josiah Clark (144) paced Almont with a first.
Almont also received seconds courtesy of Nathan Bruce (157) and Luke Longley (175).
