Imlay City is defeated by Birmingham Marian

IMLAY CITY — Imlay City dropped a 47-36 verdict to Bloomfield HIlls Marian in a non-league girls’ basketball encounter Monday night.

With the outcome, Bloomfield Hills Marian goes to 1-0 overall. Imlay City slips to 0-1 this season.

In Monday’s encounter, Bloomfield Hills Marian grabbed a 9-7 edge after one quarter had ended.

The middle two quarters saw Bloomfield Hills Marian generate 25 total points and Imlay City manage 19. That staked themselves to a 34-26 advantage with 24 minutes elapsed.

Bloomfield Hills Marian then outscored Imlay City 13-10 the rest of the way, closing out a 47-36 win.

Alexis Bruyere led Imlay City with 22 points, including three trifectas. The Spartans also received four points each courtesy of Makayla Phillips, Addison Cameron and Reese Schmidt along with two from Alexa Lengemann.
