Capac drops opener 55-48 to USA

Capac’s Boston Vock looks to drive on a USA foe in his his team’s season-opener last week.

CAPAC — The Capac varsity boys’ basketball team incurred a 55-48 setback to visiting USA on Tuesday, November 26.

With the outcome, USA improves to 1-0 overall. Capac slips to 0-1 this season.

In Tuesday’s matchup, USA grabbed an 11-8 edge after one quarter was complete.

Quarter two saw Capac net 17 points and USA generate 14. That made it 25-25 at the half.

When the action resumed, USA struck with a 19-14 third quarter advantage. That staked them to a 44-39 cushion with 24 minutes gone.

USA then outscored Capac 11-9 the rest of the way, closing out a 55-48 win.

Alan Uribe-Arce (12) and Aaron Coltson (11, including a trifecta) provided the top Capac point totals that evening. They were given assistance in the scoring department by Austin Howard (six points), Aiden Bobbitt (five), Boston Vock (four, featuring a trey), Adam Schaefer and Wiley Roose (four each) along with Joe Dalessandro (two).
