Whitney wins ICCS Turkey Trot 5K race

IMLAY CITY — Imlay City’s Elliot Whitney posted an 18:20.22 time, paving the way to a first-place finish at the Imlay City Christian School Turkey Trot 5K last Saturday.

It marked the second straight year he has earned the distinction of race pacesetter.

Gabe Hutchins, of North Branch, pulled up second at Saturday’s race. Hutchins took 19:15.2 to cover the territory.

Lapeer’s Isaac Powers, 20;23.64; Metamora’s Eli Weber, 21:04.84; Marlette’s Jeremy Evans, 21:21.74; Lapeer’s William Powers, 21:43.73; Greg Thomas (hometown not available), 22:21.06; Marlette’s Keaton Evans, 22:23.83; Imlay City’s Andrew Allen, 22:35.05; and Ortonville’s Noah Powers, 22:36.96; held down places three through 10 that day.
