Deel helps Oakland to a hoop victory

DRYDEN — Dakota Deel, a 2024 graduate of Dryden High School, helped lead the Oakland County Community College women’s basketball team register a 129-56 road triumph against Montcalm Community College on Tuesday, November 19.

With the outcome, Oakland Community College improves to 4-0 overall. Montcalm Community College slips to 1-2 this season.

In Tuesday’s matchup, Oakland Community College bolted out to a 38-16 advantage after one quarter was over with and widened the gap to 77-25 at halftime.

When the action resumed, Oakland Community College continued to pull away. Aided by a 26-22 third quarter edge, they increased their cushion to 103-47.

Oakland Community College then outscored Montcalm Community College 26-9 the rest of the way, closing out a 129-56 win.

Deel, a freshman, finished with a 12-point performance.

She also contributed two steals and one rebound to Oakland Community College’s cause.

Deel played 20 minutes.
