All-Area boys’ cross country named

TRI-CITY AREA — From the first meet in August until the last in November, these athletes proved impact performers for their respective teams.

Here is a look at who made the 2024 edition of The Tri-City Times All-Area boys’ cross country team and the credentials they generated along the way:

Logan Romain, Dryden.

Best effort: Romain logged a 17:32.4 time for 71st Saturday, November 2 at the Division 4 state finals.

Michigan International Speedway, in Brooklyn, is where the meet was contested.

Top finishes: The junior earned the distinction of race pacesetter at the Mayville-based Big Thumb Conference Leauge Meet; took fourth at the Greater Flint CC Championships; ranked sixth at a Wagener Park-based Division 4 regional; obtained a seventh at the Oakdale Classic in Lapeer; claimed an 11th at the Dryden Cardinal Classic Invitational; pulled up 15th at the 56th Holly Duane Raffin Festival of Races; furnished a 17th at the Wagener Park XC Invitational; provided a 25th at the Bret Clements Bath Invitational; collected a 26th at the Brooks Mid Season Spectacular; plus added a 71st during the Division 3 state finals at Michigan International Speedway in Brooklyn.

Levi Fitchett, Dryden.

Best effort: Fitchett registered a 17:44.7 clocking en route to a fifth at the Greater Flint CC Championships on Saturday, October 5.

The freshman took third at the Big Thumb Conference League Meet in Mayville; collected a fifth at the Greater Flint CC Championships; supplied a ninth at the Oakdale Classic in Lapeer; furnished an 11th at the 56th Holly-Duane Raffin Festival of Races; generated a 13th at a Wagener County Park-based Division 4 regional; pulled up 16th at the Dryden Cardinal Classic Invitational; placed 19th at the Bret Clements Bath Invitational; took 21st at the Wagener Park XC Invitational; registered a 37th at the Brooks Mid-Season Spectacular; plus tacked on a 105th during the Division 4 state meet at Michigan International Speedway in Brooklyn.

Colton Grzyb, Almont.

Best effort: Grzyb posted a time of 17:46.3 for 26th Saturday, October 26 at a Columbus County Park-based Division 3 regional.

Top finishes: The sophomore supplied a ninth at the Greater Flint CC Championships; collected a 10th at the Cass City Invitational; registered an 11th at a BWAC Jamboree Meet hosted by Columbus County Park; took 13ths at the Mariner Invitational and at an Algonac-based BWAC Jamboree Meet; placed 14th at the final BWAC Jamboree Meet in Goodells; contributed a 17th at the Dryden Cardinal Classic Invitational; obtained a 21st at the Dewitt Cross Country Invitational; wound up 25th at a Columbus County Park-based Division 3 regional; generated a 28th at the Dakota High School-based Run Fast Invitational; and added a 37th at the Autumn Classic Invitational.

Gavin Campbell, Almont.

Best effort: Campbell notched a 17:47.4 clocking en route to a 26th at a Columbus County Park-based Division 3 regional on Saturday, October 26.

Top fmishes: The senior obtained an 11th at the Mariner Invitational; took 12th at the Cass City Invitational; collected a 14th at the Greater Flint CC Championships; supplied 15ths at BWAC Jamboree Meets hosted by Coumbus County Park and Algonac; pulled up 19th at the final BWAC Jamboree Meet in Goodells; provided a 24th at the Dryden Cardinal Classic Invitational; contributed 26ths at a Columbus County Park-based Division 3 regional and Dewitt Cross Country Invitational; managed a 38th at the Autumn Classic Invitational; plus tacked on a 63rd at the Dakota High School-based Run Fast Invitational.

Adam SaintOnge, Almont.

Best effort: SaintOnge managed a time of 17:49.4 for 26th Saturday, October 26 at a Columbus County Park-based Division 3 regional.

Top finishes: The junior placed 10th at the Greater Flint CC Championships; took 14th at the Green Devil Invitational in Brown City; obtained 17ths at the Mariner Invitational, Cass City Invitational and at an Algonac-based Blue Water Area Conference Jamboree Meet; registered 18ths at the final BWAC Jamboree Meet in Goodells and Dryden Cardinal Classic Invitational; generated a 22nd at the Dewitt Cross Country Invitational; provided a
27th at a Columbus County Park-based Division 3 regional; contributed a 39th at the Dakota High School-based Run Fast Invitational; and added a 51st at the Autumn  Classic Invitational.

Sean Finnigan, Dryden.

Best effort: Finnigan generated a time of 18:08.2 for 117th Saturday, November 2 at the Division 4 state finals.

Top finishes: The senior took fourth at the Mayville-based Big Thumb Conference League Meet; generated 16ths at the Greater Flint CC Championships and a Division 4 regional hosted by Wagener County Park; collected a 24th at the Oakdale Classic; supplied a 30th at the Dryden Cardinal Classic Invitational; placed 34th at the 56th Holly-Duane Raffin Festival of Races; obtained a 42nd at the Bret Clements Bath Invitational; pulled up 48th at the Wagener Park XC Invitational; registered an 82nd at the Brooks Mid Season Spectacular; and added a 117th during the Division 4 state finals at Michigan International Speedway in Brooklyn.

Noah Hall, Dryden.

Best effort: Hall
generated an 18:11.6 time for 119th at the Division 4 state finals on Saturday, November 2.

placed sixth at the Mayville-based Big Thumb Conference League Meet; took 14th at the Oakdale Classic; obtained a 15th at a Wagener County Park-based Division 4 regional; provided a 21st the Greater Flint CC Championship; registered a 29th at the Dryden Cardinal Classic Invitational; generated a 32nd at the 56th Holly-Duane Raffin Festival of Races; pulled up 36th at the Bret Clements Bath Invitational; contributed a 53rd at the Wagener Park XC Invitational; supplied a 79th at the Brooks Mid Season Spectacular; and added a 119th during the Division 4 state finals held at Michigan International Speedway in Brooklyn.

Coach of the Year- For directing Dryden to first-place showings at the Big Thumb Conference League Meet and a Division 4 regional as well as a 12th at the Division 4 state finals, Kory Lohrmann earns Tri-City Times All-Area Coach of the Year accolades.
