Almont girls 26th at state meet

ALMONT — Laila Evola posted a 20:48.5 time for 100th and Taylor Stanczak registered a 20:54.8 clocking en route to 109th, helping the Almont girls’ cross country squad to a 26th last Saturday at the Division 3 state finals.
Michigan International Speedway, in Brooklyn, is where the meet was contested.
Lansing Catholic won the team title with 136 points. They were followed by Pewamo Westphalia (147 points), Stanton Central Montcalm (157), Traverse City St. Francis (159), Ithaca (226), Benzie Central (251), Muskegon West Michigan Christian (256), Hart (271), Jackson Lumen Christi (272), Leslie (301), Blissfield (322), Grand Rapids Covenant Christian (323), Saugatuck (352), Clare (384), McBain (384), Union City (391), Onsted (413), Buchanan (416), Saginaw Valley Lutheran (480), Boyne City (486), Sanford Meridian (494), Grandville Calvin Christian (523), Grass Lake (542), Monroe St. Mary Catholic Central (549), Lainsburg (596), Almont (613) and Jonesville (614).
Greta Schwarberg, 205th, 22:2.2.9; logged the next quickest Almont time. The Raiders also counted results from Melina Campbell, 237th, 23:37.5; and Charlotte Verougstraete, 240th, 23:56.9.
