Capac rolls past Mayville, 42-14

CAPAC — Capac rolled to a 42-14 road win against Mayville in a Big Thumb Conference Blue Division varsity football encounter last Friday night.

With the outcome, Capac goes to 3-3 and 2-3. Mayville falls to 2-4 and 1-4.

In Friday’s encounter, Capac grabbed a 6-0 edge after one quarter was complete.

The middle two quarters saw Capac amass 28 total points and Mayville manage six, good for a 34-6 cushion with 36 minutes gone.

Both sides struck for eight points during the final quarter, leaving Capac with 42-14 triumph at night’s end.

Capac produced their 42-point total aided by a Sam Schneider 35-yard touchdown run; an Alan Uribe-Arce one-yard touchdown run (followed by a PAT tote from Uribe-Arce); a Brandon Szuch 97-yard fumble return for a touchdown (followed by a Wiley Roose PAT tote); a Schneider 42-yard touchdown run; a Uribe-Arce to Brendan Bussone 26-yard touchdown pass; and a Peyton Frankowiak five-yard touchdown run (followed by a Seth Turner PAT tote).

For the evening, Uribe-Arce (four for seven for 80 yards) and Brody Tesnow (four for seven for 12 yards) shared the quarterback responsibilities for Capac.

Their successful tosses went to five different targets. Roose (four catches for 54 yards), Bussone (one reception for 26 yards), Uribe-Arce (one catch for 11 yards), Boston Vock (one reception for one yard) and Gabe Peters (one catch for no gain) formed that group.

The Capac ground attack chewed up 276 yards of territory on 35 totes.

Schneider (15 rushes for 179 yards) and Peters (59 yards on seven totes) proved Capac’s toughest players to stop. The remaining 13 Chief rushes netted a combined 38-yard gain.

Turner (five solos and five assists) plus Zack Stroup and Roose (one solo and nine assists each) notched Capac’s highest tackle totals. They were backed by Schneider (one solo and seven assists), Jacob Clowers (one solo and five assists), Uribe-Arce, Peters and Vock (two solos and three assists apiece), Frankowiak (one solo and four assists) and Szuch (five assists).

Capac will look to extend their winning streak to three games when Memphis visits this Friday. The Big Thumb Conference Blue Division clash is slated to get underway at 7 p.m.
