Raiders continue dominance in league golf play

TRI-CITY AREA — The Almont girls’ golf team registered a first-place finish Monday at the Blue Water Area Conference Tournament.

Holly Meadows Golf Course, in Capac, served as the tournament venue.

The conference tournament wrapped up the BWAC schedule for Almont. It was there the Raiders completed the nine-hole jamborees with six firsts and a second.

Almont now has reigned as BWAC champions since girls’ golf was introduced in 2015.

When the final scores were added up at Monday’s BWAC Tourney, Almont’s 380 total paced the field assembled. They were followed by Richmond (406), Armada (410), Yale (418) and North Branch (424).

Imlay City and Rochester Hills Lutheran Northwest also competed, but did not field complete squads.

Olivia Kotelnicki led Almont with a 90 over 18 holes. The Raiders also counted Tara Tencza’s 91, Eva Rayl’s 99 and Kara Steinbrink’s 100.

Alexa Lengemann’s 99 paced Imlay City that day. Lakynn Alessandrini (110) also represented the Spartans.
