Almont gets a win at Dryden

TRI-CITY AREA — Almont pulled out a 16-25, 25-17, 25-20, 32-30 road victory over Dryden in a non-league varsity volleyball clash last Wedesday night.

It was the season-opener for both combatants.

Sidni Brinker (16), Anna LaBroski (nine) plus Bella Ferrington and Madi Derk (five each) provided Almont’s kills.

Genesis Fisher (23), Brinker (17), Cora Wangler (nine), Hope Bletch (eight) and Allison Williams (six) contributed Almont’s highest dig totals.

Gabby Carlson (three) along with Ferrington, Derk and Wangler (two each) notched Almont’s blocks.

Genesis Fisher (eight) along with Samantha Hill, Wangler and Williams (two each) managed Almont’s ace serves.

Almont also received 33 set assists courtesy of Wangler.

Maddie Gammon (six), Mallory Barker (five), Kierstyn Stankevich and Mikayla Fleming (three each) along with Keira Miller and Izzy Weier (one apiece) contributed Dryden’s highest kill totals.

Weier handled the bulk of Dryden’s playmaking responsibilities. She managed 17 set assists.

McKinley Gammon and Weier (one each) collected Dryden’s blocks.

Weier (23), Stankevich (14, featuring an ace), Miller and Fleming (13, with an ace, apiece), Maddie Gammon (seven, featuring an ace) and Jaylynn Delmotte (three, with an ace) added Dryden’s service points.
