Hurley, Campbell suit up for East in All-Star game

CAPAC — Capac’s Wyatt Hurley and Almont’s Noah Campbell competed for the East team in a 13-12 loss to the West squad at the 40th Annual Michigan High School Football Coaches Association All-Star Game last Saturday afternoon.

Lawrence Tech University, in Southfield, is where the action unfolded.

In Saturday’s matchup, the East and West squads were held scoreless after one quarter was over with.

Quarter two saw the East generate six points and the West manage three.

When the action resumed, the West bounced back with a 7-0 third quarter edge. That staked them to a 10-6 edge with 36 minutes elapsed.

The West team then withstood a 6-3 fourth quarter rally, escaping with a 13-12 win.

Hurley saw playing time for the East side at a tight end position, while Campbell competed as an offensive lineman.
