Almont has three on All-State team

ALMONT — The Almont girls’ soccer team placed three of its players on the Division 3 All-State squad which was announced recently.

Avery Peake headlined for Almont, earning All-State second team accolades.

The junior defender provided Almont with 16 goals this spring.

Lola Battaglia, a sophomore forward, garnered All-State third team plaudits.

She finished with a school record-setting output of 47 goals and contributed 21 assists this past season.

Callie McCarthy, a freshman midfielder, joined them on the All-State lineup as well. The freshman midfielder landed a spot as an All-State honorable mention choice.

McCarthy concluded the season with 15 goals and 18 assists.

With their help, Almont topped the BWAC standings with a 13-0-1 record. The Raiders also won a Division 3 district title and wrapped up the season with a 16-4-1 overall mark.
