Imlay City, Almont girls generate 13 medal-winning performances

TRI-CITY AREA — The Imlay City girls’ track squads generated seven placewinning efforts and Almont managed six last Friday at the Blue Water Meet of Champions in Marysville.

No team scores were kept at the meet.

Penelope McNutt, 100 (13.0 seconds) and 200 (26.96 seconds); led Imlay City with a pair of seconds.

The Imlay City 800-meter relay of Gabby Douglas, Hannah Hayes, Rylee Tyack and McNutt placed fourth in 1:55.23.

Morgan Robertson, shot put, 30 feet 7 1/2 inches; collected a fifth for Imlay City.

Charlotte O’Brien, 800-meter run, 2:43.24; gave Imlay City an individual event sixth.

The Imlay City (1600 Laela Bhatti, Douglas, Hayes and O-Brien) and 3200 (Bhatti, Hayes, Douglas and O’Brien) relays placed sixth as well. They were timed in 4:37.22 and 1109.14, respectively.

The 400-meter relay of Genesis Fisher, Lauren Webster, Montserrat Coronel and Lola Battaglia paced Almont with a first. They were timed in 53.8 seconds.

Laila Evola, 1600 run, 5:43.02; provided Almont with a second.

The Almont 800-meter relay of Lillian Longom, Fisher, Coronel and Battaglia wound up third with a 1:54.25 clocking.

Webster, high jump, 4 feet 9 inches; supplied Almont with a two-way tie for a fifth.

Lilylynn Martin, pole vault, 7 feet 6 inches; contributed a six-way tie for a fifth to Almont’s cause.

Ayla DeLaurier, 800 run, 2:45.74; rounded out the list of Almont placewinners with a seventh.
