Imlay nets 57-45 win at Almont

TRI-CITY AREA — Imlay City turned back host Almont, 57-45, in a Blue Water Area Conference varsity boys’ basketball battle last Thursday night.
With the outcome, Imlay City improves to 12-5 and 6-3. Almont falls to 10-6 and 5-4.
In Thursday’s battle, Imlay City charged out to a 16-6 advantage after one quarter was complete and led 30-21 at the half.
When the action resumed, Almont fought back with a 14-13 third quarter edge. That enabled them to close to 43-35 with 24 minutes gone.
Imlay City then outscored Almont 14-10 the rest of the way, closing out a 57-45 win.
Zander Nash (25 points, including a trifecta) proved Imlay City’s top offensive threat. He was backed by Landon Jones (10 points, featuring a trey), Matt Evans (nine, with a pair of triples). Isaac Sommer (six, including a trifecta), Jack Siegler (four), Quintin Ramirez (two) and Andrew Cezik (one).
