Dryden girls’ net the Grondin Classic title

DRYDEN — The Dryden varsity girls’ basketball team earned a 39-28 win against Brown City in the finals of the Paul Grondin Classic it hosted on Friday, December 22.
In Friday’s matchup, Dryden charged out to a 13-0 advantage with 4:12 gone and led 14-2 at the end of the first quarter.
The middle two quarters saw Dryden collect 20 total points and Brown City amass 17. That staked them to a 34-19 advantage with 24 minutes gone.
Dryden then withstood a 9-5 fourth quarter rally, notching a 39-28 victory.
Keira Miller (12 points, including a trifecta) paced Dryden’s scoring attack. The Cardinals also received points courtesy of Isabella Weier (nine), Dakota Deel and Sophia Peter (six each), Olivia Reynolds (four) and Delaney Wolle (two).
