Dryden claims Paul Grondin title

DRYDEN — The Dryden varsity boys’ basketball squad saw to it they would emerge victorious, posting a favorable 64-40 triumph against Brown City in the title encounter of the Paul Grondin Classic Tournament it hosted last Friday.
With the result, Dryden improves to 6-1 this season. Brown City drops to 3-5 overall.
In Friday’s encounter, Dryden spotted Brown City a 12-7 edge after one quarter was over with.
The middle two quarters, though, would belong to Dryden. It was there they netted 38 total points and Brown City managed 16, leaving them up 45-28 with 24 minutes gone.
Dryden then outscored Brown City 19-12 the rest of the way, closing out a 64-40 triumph.
Jacob Burgess (25) and Sonny Coscione (10) posted the top Dryden point totals. They were backed by Gianni Coscione and David Insley (eight points apiece), Hunter Hughes (seven), Josh Harris (three), Hayden Blair (two) and Luke Taylor (one).
