Cardinal girls give Almont a 48-34 loss

TRI-CITY AREA — Dryden netted a 48-34 win against visiting Almont in a non-league varsity girls’ basketball contest last Friday night.

With the result, Dryden improves to 2-0 overall. Almont falls to 0-2 this season.

In Friday’s contest, Dryden jumped out to a 17-10 advantage after one quarter was complete.

The middle two quarters saw Dryden accumulate 23 total points and Almont manage 17, staking the former to a 40-27 cushion with 24 minutes gone.

Dryden then outscored Almont 8-7 from that point on, earning a 48-34 win.

For Dryden, Dakota Deel (21 points, including four trifectas) led the way. The Cardinals also had Keira Miller (15 points, featuring a pair of treys), Olivia Reynolds (three), Sophia Peter, Kierstyn Stankevich, Trenna Bowman and Isabella Weier (two each) along with Mya Hill (one) reach the scoring column.

Jesse Kautz (seven points, with a triple), proved Almont’s toughest players to stop. They were backed by Rachael Johnson (five points, including a trifecta), Ava Panduren, Brandi Zimmer and Madi Miodowski (four each), Alison Williams (a trey) along with Natalia Radisavljevic (two).
