Fitchett, Schoen excel at finals

TRI-CITY AREA — Dryden junior Aiden Fitchett logged a 17:13.52 time and Capac senior John Schoen registered a 17:28.03 clocking, good for respective showings of 23rd and 34th last Saturday at the Division 4 cross country state finals.
Michigan International Speedway, in Brooklyn, is where the race was contested.
Fitchett registered respective mile splits of 5:28, 11:00.9 and 16:37.5 en route to his finish.
For his performance, Fitchett earned All-State accolades (given to the top-30 finishers).
Schoen posted mile splits of 5:34.5, 11:15.9 and 16:50.5 on the way to his showing.
Wyoming Potter’s House senior Lezawe Osterink paced the 251-runner field with a 15:36.84 clocking.
Wyoming Potter’s House (35 points) took team honors that day.
