Spartans stay unbeaten in BWAC

TRI-CITY AREA — Imlay City bested visiting Almont, 69-24, in a Blue Water Area Conference varsity girls’ basketball game last Friday night.

With the result, Imlay City improves to 10-2 and 7-0. Almont slips to 3-7 and 2-6.

In Friday’s game, Imlay City bolted out to a 14-2 advantage after one quarter was done.

The middle two quarters saw Imlay City net 24 total points and Almont hit for 15, leaving them up 38-17 with 24 minutes gone.

Imlay City then outscored Almont 31-7 the rest of the way, assuring themselves of a 69-24 win at night’s end.

Mary Lengemann led Imlay City with 21 points, including a pair of trifectas. Ana Lengemann (16, featuring four treys), Lexa Forti (15), Jaya Forti (11) plus Dakota Deel, Olivia Livingston and Alyssa Evans (two each) also reached the scoring column.

Grace Koenig and Ava Panduren paced Almont with six points apiece. They were backed by Grace Johnson (five points), Katie Hettinger (four) and Lydia Lacavera (three).
