Imlay City soccer gives Almont league loss

TRI-CITY AREA — Imlay City made visiting Almont absorb a 9-1 loss in a Blue Water Area Conference boys’ soccer meeting last Wednesday.

With the decision, Imlay City improves to 4-1 and 4-0.

Benino Barragan (set up by Eduardo Rojas), Juan Hernandez (assisted by Ty Wagester), Benino Barragan (set up by Wagester), Benino Barragan (assisted by Wagester), Benino Barragan (assisted by Giovani Barragan), Levi Turrell (unassisted), Giovani Barragan (set up by Turrell) , Benino Barragan (assisted by Julian Franco), and Hudson Everhart (set up by Benino Barragan) furnished Imlay City’s goals. Max Galiana got the win in net for Imlay City. He finished with six saves. Killian Abitheira (via a free kick) provided the lone Almont goal.

Spartans roll past North Branch

Imlay City rolled past visiting North Branch in a non-league boys’ soccer meeting on Tuesday, Sept. 1.

Giovani Barragan (unassisted), Juan Hernandez (set up by Giovani Barragan), Giovani Barragan (assisted by Benino Barragan), Benino Barragan (set up by Giovani Barragan), Benino Barragan (assisted by George Barragan) and Juan Hernandez (set up by Giovani Barragan) supplied Imlay City’s goals. Max Galiana got the win in net for Imlay City. He was credited with three saves.

Almont, Yale soccer tie their match

The Almont boys’ soccer teams played to a 3-3 outcome against visiting Yale in a Blue Water Area Conference boys’ soccer confrontation on Monday, Aug. 31.

Colton Gryzb (set up by Devin Komlosan), Michael Lesner (assisted by Jaxon Henkins) and Gabe Hibner (assisted by Komlosan) provided Almont’s goals.

Vinny Catenacci handled the goalkeeping responsibilities for Almont. He was credited with 11 saves.
