Dorothy Spencer, 94

Dorothy Spencer, age 94, of Imlay City, Michigan died Sunday, August 9, 2026 at Serene Gardens of Imlay City, MI.  Dorothy Opal Schuette was born January 16, 1932 in Saginaw, MI. She is the daughter of the late Quentin and the late Luella (Sells  Moggo) Schuette.  She married Delbert Oscar Spencer on April 12, 1952 in St. Ignace, MI.  Her husband, Delbert died October 3, 1985. 

Dorothy grew up in Saginaw, Michigan.  She lived most of her life in the Imlay City area.  She was a member of the Christ Evangelical Lutheran Church (WELS) in Imlay City.  Dorothy retired as a Sales Clerk at the D & C 5 & 10 Department Store in Imlay City; she retired in the late 1990's.  She had previously worked at Hammill Seatbelt Mfg. in Imlay City and the Kingsmen Seatbelt Mfg. in Almont, MI for several years.

Dorothy is survived by: her daughters, Penny Edwards of Imlay City, MI and Jackie (Randy) Mauldin of Brown City, MI; son, Delbert (Vicki) Spencer of Imlay City, MI.  Also surviving are; her grandchildren, Greg (Shannon) Sarca, Jennifer (Scott) Willard, Doug (Jessica) Strong, Jacob (Emily) Spencer, Tonya (Lance) Waterman; and great-grandchildren, Savannah Waterman, Mason Waterman, Lucas Waterman, and Renesmee Strong. 

She was preceded in death by: her husband, Delbert O. Spencer; son-in-law, Larry Edwards; her sister, Elaine Miller; and brother, Everett Dupraw.

Graveside burial of Dorothy’s cremated remains will take place next week at Imlay Township Cemetery.  Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the Muir Brothers Funeral Home of Imlay City, 225 N.
