All-Area boys’ track team named

TRI-CITY AREA — From start to finish, the 2026 edition of the Tri-City Times All-Area boys’ track team proved a force with which to be reckoned.

Here is a look at who earned a spot in the lineup and the accomplishments they registered along the way:

Name: Jacob Biolchini
School: Almont
Year: Senior
Event: High jump

Best effort: Biolchini produced a clearance of 5 feet 4 inches twice this past season.

The first time he accomplished the performance was Tuesday, April 28 when he placed second. 

He also cleared the height en route to a third at the Fourth Annual Cardinal Classic in Dryden on Friday, May 8.

Top finishes: Biolchini took third at the Fourth Annual Cardinal Classic in Dryden; obtained a sixth at the Armada-based Blue Water Area Conference League Meet; furnished a ninth at the Marlette Invite; registered a 15th at the Davison Twilight Classic; plus managed a 20th at the Lapeer County Press Meet in North Branch. 

Name: Gabe Hibner
School: Almont
Year: Junior
Event: Pole vault

Best effort: Hibner cleared 12 feet three times during the 2026 campaign.

The first team it happened was when third at the Davison Twilight Classic on Friday, May, 1.

Four days later, Hibner cleared the height again en route to a  second at the Armada-based Blue Water Area Conference League Meet.

He also cleared 12 feet on the way to a first Saturday, May 16 at a Division 3 regional meet.

Top finishes: Hibner took first at a Division 3 regional meet;  provided seconds at the Marlette Invite and Fourth Annual Cardinal Classic in Dryden; generated a third at the Davison Twilight Classic; placed fourth at the Marysville-based Blue Water Meet of Champions; claimed a seventh at the Shake Off the Rust Invite in Davison; plus added a 17th at the Hudsonville-based Division 3 state finals.

Name: Jovani Pena
School: Imlay City
Year: Junior
Event: Long jump
Best effort: Pena leaped 19 feet 6 inches twice during the 2026 campaign.

The first time he accomplished that was Tuesday, May 5 when he placed first at the Armada-based Blue Water Area Conference League Meet.

Eleven days later, Pena equaled that distance when he wound up fourth at a Division 2 regional in North Branch.

Top finishes: He claimed a first at the Armada-based Blue Water Area Conference League Meet; supplied fourths at the Hatchet Invite in Bad Axe and at a North Branch-based Division 2 regional; generated a fifth at the Tri County Invite; contributed an eighth at the Bluewater Meet of Champs in Marysville; furnished a 19th at the 63rd Elmer Ball Oxford Invite; and was 22nd among Division 1/2 entries at the SVSU Indoor Invite; plus tacked on a 23rd at the Shake Off the Rust Invite in Davison.

Name: Brayden Cremeans
School: Imlay City
Year: Freshman
Event: Shot put

Best effort: Cremeans threw 38 feet 4 1/4 inches en route to an 11th at a Division 2 regional in North Branch on Saturday, May 16.

Top finishes: He took ninth at the Armada-based Blue Water Area Conference League Meet; provided a 19th at the 63rd Elmer Ball Oxford Invitational; supplied a 29th at the Tri-County Invite; managed a 32nd at the Shake Off the Rust Invite in Davison; plus registered a 40th at the Davison Twilight Classic.

Name: Caleb Wilson
School: Dryden
Year: Sophomore
Event: Discus

Best effort: Wilson uncorked a toss measuring 116 feet 5 inches for first Friday, May 15 at a Dryden-based  Division 4  regional.

Top finishes: He earned firsts at the Dryden-based Big Thumb Conference Red and Blue Division League Meet and a Division 4 regional; ranked 13th at the Marlette Invite;  was 19th at the Davison Twilight Classic; generated a 23rd at the Hudsonville-based Division 4 state finals; and added a 30th at the Shake Off the Rust Invite in Davison.

Name: Brett Lestage
School: Imlay City
Year: Junior
Event: 100-meter dash

Best effort: Lestage posted a time of 10.78 seconds en route to a second at the 63rd Elmer Ball Oxford Invitational on Saturday, April 25.

Top finishes: He claimed firsts at the Armada-based Blue Water Area Conference League Meet, Hatchet Invite in Bad Axe, Marysville-based Bluewater Meet of Champs and Thumb Meet of Champs in Caro; placed second at the 63rd Elmer Ball Oxford Invitational; generated fourths at the Davison-based Shake Off the Rust Invite and Davison Twilight Classic; registered a fifth at the Tri-County Invite; plus provided a sixth at the Hamilton High School-based Division 2 state finals.

Name: Brody Corneau
School: Almont
Year: Junior
Event: 110-meter hurdles

Best effort: Corneau supplied a clocking of 15.95 seconds for  first Tuesday, April 14 in a meet against visiting Blue Water Area Conference rivals Yale, and Cros-Lex.

Top finishes: He generated a second at the Armada-based Blue Water Area Conference League Meet; secured a third at the Marlette Invite, North Branch-based Lapeer County Press Invite, Fourth Annual Cardinal Classic in Dryden  and a Division 3 regional in Mount Clemens; obtained a fourth at the Shake Off the Rust Invite in Davison; plus added fifths at the Davison Twilight Classic and Bluewater Meet of Champs in Marysville.

Name: Brett Lestage
School: Imlay City
Year: Junior
Event: 200-meter dash

Best effort: Lestage registered a school record-setting time of 21.96 seconds en route to a ninth at the Division 2 state finals on Saturday, May 30.

Top finishes: Lestage placed first at the Armada-based Blue Water Area Conference League Meet, Bad Axe-based Hatchet Invite, Bluewater Meet of Champions in Marysville and Caro-based Thumb Meet of Champions; took second at the Davison Twilight Classic; registered a fourth at the 63rd Elmer Ball Oxford Invite; obtained a fifth at the Davison-based Shake Off the Rust Invite; generated a sixth among Division 1/2 entries at the SVSU Indoor Invite; plus provided a ninth at the Hamilton High School-based Division 2 state finals

Name: Ethan Everhart
School: Imlay City
Year: Senior
Event: 300-meter hurdles

Best effort: Everhart provided a clocking of 44.21 seconds for first Friday, April 17 at the Tri-County Invite. 

Top finishes: He took first at the Tri-County Invite.

Name: Brett Lestage
School: Imlay City
Year: Junior
 Event: 400-meter dash

Best effort: Lestage managed a time of 50.67 seconds en route to a first at the Armada-based Blue Water Area Conference League Meet on Tuesday, May 5.

Top finishes: He obtained a first at the Blue Water Area Conference League Meet in Armada and was second at the Bad Axe-based Hatchet Invite.

Name: Colton Grzyb
School: Almont
Year: Junior
Event: 800-meter run

Best effort: Grzyb supplied a 2:02.99 clocking for a first Tuesday, May 5 at the Armada-based Blue Water Area Conference League Meet.

Top finishes: He placed first at the Marlette Invite, Blue Water Area Conference League Meet in Armada, Fourth Annual Cardinal Classic in Dryden and a Mount Clemens-based Division 3 regional; claimed a second at the Marysville-based Bluewater Meet of Champions; obtained an eighth at the Lapeer County Press Invite in North Branch; ranked 16th at the Davison-based Shake Off the Rust Invite; and contributed a 25th at the Division 3 state finals in Kent City.

Name: Levi Fitchett
School: Dryden
Year: Sophomore
Event: 1600-meter run

Best effort: Fitchett generated a time of 4:51.77 en route to a second at a Dryden-based Division 4 regional on Friday, May 15.

Top finishes: He obtained a first at the Fourth Annual Cardinal Classic in Dryden; placed second at a Dryden-based Division 4 regional; registered a third at the Green Devil Invite in Brown City; furnished a fourth at the Marlette Invite; took 21st at the Hudsonville-based Division 4 state finals; provided a 25th at the Davison Twilight Classic; and added a 26th at the Shake Off the Rust Invite in Davison.

Name: Liam Bhatti
School: Imlay City
Year: Sophomore
Event: 3200-meter run

Best effort: Bhatti managed a 10:33.58 clocking for 31st Friday, May 1 at the Davison Twilight Classic.

Top finishes: He collected a first at the Armada-based Blue Water Area Conference League Meet; placed eighth at the Bluewater Meet of Champions in Marysville; wound up ninth at a North Branch-based Division 2 regional; contributed an 11th at the Tri-County Invite; furnished a 25th at the Shake Off the Rust Invite in Davison; plus tacked on a 31st at the Davison Twilight Classic.

Event: 400-meter relay

Best effort: An Imlay City team of Alan Valdovinos, Enrique Cardenas, Ethan Everhart and Brett Lestage posted a time of 43.01 seconds en route to a seventh at the Division 2 state finals on Saturday, May 30.

Hamilton High School is where the action unfolded.

Top finishes: Imlay City took first at North Branch-based Division 2 regional and the Bluewater Meet of Champions in Marysville; obtained a second at the Caro-based Thumb Meet of Champions; furnished a sixth at the Davison Twilight Classic; plus added a seventh at the Division 2 state finals hosted by Hamilton High School.

Event: 1600-meter relay

Best effort: A team of Matthew Bacholzky, Johnny Roland, Adam SaintOnge and Colton Grzyb notched a time of 3:36.21 en route to a fourth at a Division 3 regional hosted by Mount Clemens on Saturday, May 16.

Top finishes: Almont’s lineup took second at the Blue Water Area Conference League Meet in Armada; obtained a fourth at a Mount Clemens-based Division 3 regional; and placed fifth at the Bluewater Meet of Champions in Marysville.

Event: 3200-meter relay

Best effort: An Almont lineup of Jamin Siewert, Benjamin Kline, Adam SaintOnge and Colton Gryzb cracked the 8:45-barrier four times this season.

The quickest of those outings happened Tuesday, May 5 when they ran an 8:38.66 effort en route to a third at the Armada-based Blue Water Area Conference League Meet.

Top finishes: They registered firsts at the Marlette Invite, Fourth Annual Cardinal Classic in Dryden and at a Mount Clemens-based Division 3 regional; provided seconds at the North Branch-based Lapeer County Press Invite and Bluewater Meet of Champions in Marysville; furnished a third at the Armada-based Blue Water Area Conference League Meet; placed ninth at the Davison Twilight Classic; generated a 10th at Shake Off the Rust Invite in Davison; and added a 23rd at the Division 3 state finals hosted by Kent City High School.

Coach of the Year- For directing his team to a top Division 4 regional finish and a second at the BTC Blue and Red Division League Meet it hosted, Dryden Coach Matt Cherry earns Tri-City Times All-Area Coach of the Year accolades.
