Stine plays at Alliance 14U Nationals

IMLAY CITY — The T2 National Goleski softball squad, which counts Imlay City’s Macie Stine among their ranks, took 41st at the Alliance 14U Nationals recently.

Kokomo, Indiana is where the action unfolded.

They earned the right to compete there by winning a tournament on June 15.

The team began tournament play July 25 with an 8-6 win against Yardley, Pennsylvania.

Later that day, T2 Goleski dropped to 1-1 with a 10-1 loss to Tampa Mustangs Obama (Orlando, Florida).

They would split their games on July 26 as well, picking up a 9-8 victory over Glory Atkins Gold (Flower Mound, Texas) and falling 13-3 to Firecrackers Premier RTI (Whittier, California).

T2 Goleski followed that up July 27 with an 8-3 triumph against Bombers Gold (Grapevine, Texas) and an 8-1 win over TN Mojo West on July 28.

The next two games  contested July 29 saw the team needing to prevail at least once to secure a spot in the Elite Eight.

Unfortunately, they were denied in that pursuit. It was there they dropped a 6-2 verdict to Bombers Gold Futures (College Station, Texas) and absorbed a 12-2 loss to Bombers Gold SETX Futures (Mont Belvieu, Texas).

That left the T2 National Goleski softball squad 41st overall among the 110-team field assembled.

Stine finished with five singles, four doubles and two home runs in 27 at bats.

She also contributed seven RBI to T2 National Goleski softball squad’s cause.

Stine played 27 innings at catcher, pitched 10 2/3 innings and played 10 innings first base, registering 20 putouts along the way.
