IMLAY CITY — Imlay City celebrated its homecoming with a 22-9 win against Yale in a Blue Water Area Conference football game last Friday night.

When the action resumed, Imlay City struck with an 8-0 third-quarter advantage to hold a 22-7 cushion heading into the fourth quarter. Yale then outscored Imlay City 2-0 the rest of the way.
Imlay City produced its 22-point total aided by a Cash Young 10-yard touchdown pass to Brett Lestage (followed by a successful extra-point kick courtesy of Max Galeana), a Lestage 29-yard touchdown run (followed by an accurate extra-point kick by Galeana) and a Lestage 15-yard touchdown run (followed by a Lestage-to-Henry Schmidt PAT pass).

His completions went to four different targets: Lestage (three catches for 23 yards), Trystan Whiting (two receptions for 16 yards), Schmidt (one catch for 16 yards) and Noah Beebe (one reception for 10 yards).
The Imlay City ground attack managed 234 yards on 31 carries. Lestage (10 rushes for 138 yards) and Daniel Rojas (96 yards on 19 carries) supplied the top output. The remaining two Spartan carries netted no gain.
