Quick recovery on second water main break
CAPAC — Last week, residents of Capac were surprised by another, very brief, water main break from the Main Street construction.
The 90-degree day saw a crew of construction workers address the break in front of Carquest.

The break was much smaller and less consequential than the previous one, only affecting a small range of the village from the railroad to the street light on Main Street.

The main affected only two blocks of homes and businesses in the downtown district.
“These things happen during major construction work,” Village Manager Travis Youatt said. “Unfortunately, it did happen, but the fortunate thing is that our guys were able to get a quick shutdown and only a few were affected by it.
“The other one was a major water main that we couldn’t get shut down right away, this one we got shut down within a few minutes,” Youatt added.
During the disruption of water service, residents reported lower water pressure — down to a trickle — while others reported no water service for a brief period of time.
