Two squads among the best at Imlay City 3-on-3 hoops tourney

TRI-CITY AREA — Tri-City Area basketball teams earned two titles last Saturday at the Sixth Annual Imlay City 3-on-3 Tournament.

A total of 70 teams competed in the event.

Blue Water Hurricanes (Imlay City’s Samuel Schlorke, Isaac Krick and Easton Colosky along with Port Huron’s Karsyn Brettin) won the title in the boys’ fifth and sixth grade division, fashioning a 4-0 mark en route.

Polish Putbacks (Imlay City’s Ben Rodak, Shane Lesniak and Jordan Lesniak) matched their finish position.

They won the 18-30 men’s division, putting together a 2-0 record along the way.

It marked the second straight year the team has claimed a division title.

Your Mom’s Favorite Team (Imlay City’s Camden Rhodes, William Beebe, Lucas Furgerson and Breven Goertler) had the next best showing among Tri-City Area teams on hand, going 4-2 in the boys fifth and sixth grade division.

Jelly Kelly (Imlay City’s Ty Wagester, Almont’s Michael Felosek, Marysville’s Truett Simpson and Port Huron‘s Corbin Francisco)  won one out of three contests in boys’ ninth to 12th grade division.

The Spartans (Imlay City’s Brody Sheffer, Asher Dietch and Henry Dye, along with Almont’s Jude Kent) also tested their court skills at the Imlay City 3-on-3 Basketball Tournament.

They managed a 1-2 mark in the boys’ third and fourth grade division.
